EDBIO is run by its founder, Eduard Decker. The company grew out of laboratory practice rather than out of trading: in 2015 he completed his training at the diagnostic laboratory of Heidelberg University Hospital, and the years since have been spent on both sides of the supply question — the technical demands of laboratory processes and the logistics of moving human biological material to the people who need it.

That is why the catalogue reads the way it does. A specimen on its own is not a result. What makes it usable is the donor context, the collection protocol and the data that travels with it — which is also what decides whether a finding can be interpreted, repeated and defended.

Today EDBIO supplies research groups, diagnostic organisations and pharmaceutical companies worldwide, working through a network of diagnostic laboratories, clinics and biobanks. Sourcing runs under the applicable regulatory standards, and where a request falls outside what that network can supply, we say so rather than offering the nearest match.
